Named after Sanganer, a historic textile town near Jaipur, Sanganeri prints are known for their fine floral motifs, graceful vines, intricate butis, and nature-inspired artwork. These designs have been a part of Rajasthan’s textile heritage for centuries and remain popular across India and around the world.
While Sanganeri prints were traditionally created using hand-carved wooden blocks, many modern textile workshops in Jaipur and Sanganer now use screen printing (also known as table printing) to reproduce these detailed patterns with greater consistency and efficiency. This allows the artwork to retain its signature look while making it more suitable for everyday products and larger-scale production.
What makes a print truly “Sanganeri” is not the printing method itself, but the design language. Characteristic features include delicate flowers, trailing vines, paisleys, and detailed botanical motifs, often arranged in elegant repeating patterns.
